నేను రాముడిని—విశ్వామిత్రుని కథను కొనసాగించమని అడిగాను
సగర మహారాజు వంశకథ విన్న తరువాత నా ఆసక్తి పెరిగింది. “మునీంద్రా, మా పూర్వజుడు యజ్ఞాన్ని ఎలా నిర్వహించాడు? తరువాత ఏమైంది?” అని విశ్వామిత్రుని అడిగాను. ఆయన సగరుని అశ్వమేధ కథను కొనసాగించాడు.
యజ్ఞాశ్వం దేశమంతా సంచరిస్తుండగా ఇంద్రుడు రాక్షసరూపంలో వచ్చి దానిని అపహరించాడు. యజ్ఞం పూర్తవ్వాలంటే గుర్రం తిరిగి రావాలి. సగరుడు తన అరవై వేల కుమారులను పిలిచి, “భూమిపై అన్ని దిక్కులలో వెతకండి. కనిపించకపోతే నేలను తవ్వి అయినా కనుగొనండి” అని ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు.
రాజకుమారులు ఆజ్ఞను missionగా తీసుకున్నారు. ప్రతి ఒక్కరూ విస్తారమైన నేలను తవ్వడం ప్రారంభించారు. వారి శక్తి అపారం; కానీ విచక్షణ తగ్గింది. భూమి పొరలను చీల్చుతూ, మార్గంలో ఉన్న జీవులను అనుమానిస్తూ, జలచరాలు మరియు ఇతర ప్రాణులకు హాని కలిగించారు.
“గుర్రాన్ని దొంగిలించినవాడు ఇక్కడే ఉండాలి” అనే ముందస్తు నిర్ణయం వారి ప్రతి చర్యను నడిపించింది. Evidence వెతకాల్సిన అన్వేషణ suspicionను నిర్ధారించుకునే destructionగా మారింది. బాధపడిన జీవులు, భయపడిన దేవతలు బ్రహ్మ వద్దకు వెళ్లి తమ ఆందోళనను తెలిపారు.
విశ్వామిత్రుని narration ఈ దశలో ఒక హెచ్చరికగా నిలిచింది: సగరుని లక్ష్యం యజ్ఞాన్ని పూర్తి చేయడం; కుమారుల విధానం మాత్రం ప్రపంచాన్ని గాయపరచడం. వారి అన్వేషణ తరువాత ఎక్కడికి చేరిందో తదుపరి episodeలో వస్తుంది.
Valmiki Ramayana Bala Kanda Sarga 39లో epic సంఖ్యలు, celestial intervention కథా ప్రపంచానికి చెందినవి. ఇక్కడ వాటిని ఆధునిక చారిత్రక గణాంకాలుగా చూపడం లేదు.

Authority ఇచ్చిన goalను followers limits లేకుండా అమలు చేస్తే mission drift జరుగుతుంది. “ఏ విధంగానైనా ఫలితం” అనే భావన legitimate objectiveను unethical methodగా మార్చవచ్చు. Leader targetతో పాటు boundaries, safeguards, review pointsను కూడా స్పష్టంగా ఇవ్వాలి.
నేటి ఉదాహరణలు
- Sales target కోసం customersను తప్పుదారి పట్టించడం.
- Fraud investigationలో evidenceకు బదులు అందరినీ suspectగా చూడడం.
- Development projectలో environmental and community costsను లెక్కించకపోవడం.
- Exam result కోసం learning, health, integrityలను త్యజించడం.
🌱 జీవిత పాఠం
లక్ష్యం న్యాయమైనదే అయినా, దానికి ఉపయోగించే పద్ధతికి హద్దులు అవసరం. Obedienceకు judgment జతకాకపోతే శక్తి పరిష్కారం కాక ప్రమాదం అవుతుంది.
English version — Rama listens
After hearing about Sagara’s lineage, I asked Vishvamitra to continue. He told me that Indra stole the sacrificial horse. Because the rite could not be completed without it, Sagara ordered his sons to search every direction and dig into the earth if necessary.
The princes obeyed with enormous force but diminishing judgment. Their search harmed living beings and turned suspicion into destruction. The distressed beings and gods approached Brahma. The episode stops here, before the search reaches its later destination.
The large numbers and celestial intervention belong to the epic narrative world; they are not presented here as modern historical statistics.
🌱 Human Development Perspective
Mission drift begins when followers receive a target without ethical boundaries. Leaders must define safeguards, review points and proportional methods—not merely demand results.
🌱 Life Lesson
A worthy objective does not justify unlimited means. Obedience becomes dangerous when it is separated from judgment, evidence and care for those affected.
