కథ

మిత్రశర్మ అనే బ్రాహ్మణుడికి ఒక యజ్ఞం కోసం బలమైన మేకను ఇచ్చారు. దూరం ఎక్కువగా ఉండడంతో దానిని భుజాలపై వేసుకుని ఇంటి దారిపట్టాడు.

ముగ్గురు ఆకలితో ఉన్న మోసగాళ్లు మేకను చూశారు. బలవంతంగా లాక్కోకుండా అతని నమ్మకాన్ని దోచుకోవాలని నిర్ణయించి, వేర్వేరు మలుపుల్లో నిలబడ్డారు.

మొదటి వాడు “కుక్కను భుజాన మోస్తున్నావేమిటి?” అన్నాడు. బ్రాహ్మణుడు కోపంతో “ఇది మేక” అని ముందుకు సాగాడు. రెండవ వాడు “చనిపోయిన దూడను ఎందుకు మోస్తున్నావు?” అన్నాడు. బ్రాహ్మణుడు మేకను తాకాడు; అది జీవంగానే ఉంది. అయినా సందేహం మొదలైంది. మూడవ వాడు “గాడిదను మోస్తే అందరూ నవ్వుతారు” అన్నాడు.

ఇప్పుడు తన భుజాలపై ఉన్న ప్రత్యక్ష సత్యం కంటే ముగ్గురు అపరిచితుల మాటలు బరువెక్కాయి. “ఇది రూపం మార్చే దుష్టశక్తేమో” అని భయపడి మేకను వదిలి వెళ్లిపోయాడు. ముగ్గురు తిరిగి వచ్చి దానిని తీసుకెళ్లారు. మంత్రం జరగలేదు; మారింది తన తీర్పుపై అతని విశ్వాసం.

ఈరోజు జీవితంలో

Social media: ఒక false claimను పది accounts పంచితే అవి పది independent sources కావు. Workplace: repeated rumour ఒకే మూలం నుంచి వచ్చి ఉండవచ్చు. Markets: “అందరూ కొంటున్నారు” thesis కాదు. Personal life: repeated label మన self-beliefను బలహీనపరచవచ్చు.

Verification పద్ధతి

1. Claimను ఖచ్చితంగా రాయండి.
2. Primary evidence అడగండి.
3. Voices నిజంగా independentనా చూడండి.
4. Direct observationను పూర్తిగా విస్మరించకండి.
5. భయంతో నిర్ణయం తీసుకునే ముందు pause ఇవ్వండి.

🌱 జీవిత పాఠం

అబద్ధం పదేపదే వినిపించడం దానిని నిజం చేయదు; కానీ మన తీర్పును బలహీనపరచగలదు. స్వతంత్ర ఆధారం, ప్రత్యక్ష పరిశీలన, ప్రశాంత verification మనసుకు రక్షణ.

The story

A Brahmin carried a healthy goat home. Three hungry rogues chose not to seize it by force; they stole his confidence. The first called it a dog, the second a dead calf and the third a donkey. Three voices outweighed the living evidence on his shoulders. Fearing a shape-shifter, he abandoned the goat, which the rogues took.

No magic changed the animal. Repetition changed the man's trust in his judgment.

Modern relevance

Ten social accounts repeating one source are not ten confirmations. A workplace rumour may have only one origin. “Everyone is buying” is not an investment thesis. Repeated labels can weaken self-belief despite contrary evidence.

🌱 Life Lesson

Repetition does not make a lie true, but it can erode judgment. Seek primary evidence, check whether voices are independent, preserve direct observation and pause before acting under fear.
