చిత్రాంగదుని పట్టాభిషేకం — అధికారంతో బాధ్యత
నేను చిత్రాంగదుణ్ని.
నేను శంతనుడు, సత్యవతిల కుమారుణ్ని. నా బాల్యంలో హస్తినాపుర రాజభవనం నాకు వైభవంగా కనిపించేది. కానీ నా తండ్రి మరణించిన తరువాత అదే రాజభవనం ఒక్కసారిగా బాధ్యతలతో నిండిన స్థలంగా మారింది. నా అన్నయ్యలా నిలిచిన భీష్ముడు తన ప్రతిజ్ఞ కారణంగా సింహాసనాన్ని స్వీకరించలేదు. కురు వంశ పరంపరను కొనసాగించే బాధ్యత నా భుజాలపై పడింది.
రాజ్యాభిషేకం జరిగిన రోజు నా తలపై కిరీటం ఉంచినప్పుడు సభలోని అందరి చూపులు నాపైనే నిలిచాయి. ఆ క్షణంలో కిరీటం బంగారంతో చేసిన అలంకారం మాత్రమే కాదని నాకు తెలిసింది. ప్రజల భద్రత, రాజ్య గౌరవం, పూర్వీకుల వారసత్వం—అన్నీ దానితో కలిసి నా తలపైకి వచ్చాయి.
భీష్ముడు నా పక్కనే ఉన్నాడు. అతనికి రాజ్యాన్ని పాలించే శక్తి ఉన్నప్పటికీ, తన మాటకు కట్టుబడి వెనుక నిలిచాడు. అతని సమక్షం నాకు ధైర్యాన్ని ఇచ్చింది; అదే సమయంలో నా బాధ్యతను మరింత స్పష్టంగా గుర్తుచేసింది. సింహాసనం నాకు లభించింది గానీ, దాన్ని సమర్థంగా నిలబెట్టుకోవడం నా కర్తవ్యం.
నా పేరు చిత్రాంగదుడు. గంధర్వులలో కూడా చిత్రాంగదుడు అనే శక్తివంతుడు ఉన్నాడని తరువాత తెలిసింది. నా శౌర్యంపై నాకు అపారమైన నమ్మకం ఉండేది. రాజుగా నా బలం రాజ్య గౌరవాన్ని కాపాడాలని భావించాను. కానీ శక్తితో పాటు సంయమనం కూడా అవసరమని జీవితం త్వరలోనే నాకు పరీక్షగా చూపబోతోంది.
ఆ సమయంలో నాకు కనిపించినది విజయపు ద్వారం. కానీ ప్రతి అధికారం తనతో పాటు నిర్ణయాల ఫలితాలను కూడా తీసుకువస్తుందని ఇంకా పూర్తిగా గ్రహించాల్సి ఉంది.
🌱 మానవ వికాస కోణం
పదవి పొందడం అభివృద్ధి ముగింపు కాదు; నిజమైన పరీక్ష ప్రారంభం. విద్యార్థి నాయకుడిగా ఎంపిక కావడం, ఉద్యోగిలో managerగా promotion పొందడం, కుటుంబ వ్యాపారం బాధ్యత తీసుకోవడం లేదా ప్రజా పదవిలోకి రావడం—ప్రతి సందర్భంలో designation కంటే accountability ముఖ్యమైనది.
ఉదాహరణకు, కొత్త manager తన అధికారాన్ని చూపడం కంటే బృందం పనితీరు, న్యాయం, communicationపై దృష్టి పెట్టాలి. కుటుంబ వ్యాపారాన్ని స్వీకరించిన వారసుడు గత తరాల పేరు మీద ఆధారపడకుండా కొత్త సామర్థ్యాన్ని నిర్మించాలి. నాయకత్వంలో confidence అవసరం; కానీ confidenceకు self-control, listening, consequence-awareness తోడైతేనే అది స్థిరమైన నాయకత్వంగా మారుతుంది.
🌱 జీవిత పాఠం
అధికారం మన స్థాయిని పెంచుతుంది; బాధ్యత మన వ్యక్తిత్వాన్ని పరీక్షిస్తుంది. కిరీటం పొందడం కంటే దాని బరువును సమర్థంగా మోయడం గొప్ప నాయకత్వం.

The Coronation of Chitrangada — Power with Responsibility
I am Chitrangada.
I am the son of Shantanu and Satyavati. In my childhood, the palace of Hastinapura appeared to me as a place of splendour. After my father’s death, however, the same palace suddenly became a place filled with responsibility. Bhishma, who stood before me like an elder brother and guardian, would not take the throne because of his solemn vow. The responsibility of continuing the Kuru line came to me.
On the day of my coronation, when the crown was placed upon my head, every eye in the court turned toward me. In that moment I understood that the crown was not merely an ornament of gold. The security of the people, the honour of the kingdom and the legacy of my ancestors had all come with it.
Bhishma stood beside me. He possessed the ability to rule, yet remained behind because he would not break his word. His presence gave me confidence, but it also made my responsibility unmistakable. I had received the throne; proving worthy of it was now my duty.
My name was Chitrangada. I later came to know that a powerful Gandharva also bore that name. I had great confidence in my strength and believed that, as king, my valour must defend the honour of the realm. Life, however, was soon to test whether strength could stand without restraint.
At that stage I could see the doorway of achievement before me. I had yet to understand fully that every position of power also carries the consequences of the decisions made from it.
🌱 Human Development Perspective
Receiving a position is not the end of development; it is the beginning of a new test. Becoming a student leader, receiving a managerial promotion, inheriting responsibility for a family enterprise or entering public office all require accountability beyond the title.
A new manager, for example, should focus less on displaying authority and more on team performance, fairness and communication. A successor in a family enterprise must build capability rather than depend only on inherited reputation. Confidence is essential in leadership, but it becomes sustainable only when joined by self-control, listening and awareness of consequences.
🌱 Life Lesson
Power may raise our position; responsibility tests our character. Leadership is not merely receiving the crown, but learning to carry its weight well.
